I think so. When I first bought Animal Crossing (Gamecube) for my sister, I thought it was a simple kids game, but soon after I found hours of fun gameplay, not to mention some NES games I got as well. I think Animal Crossing will be a great game and I would recommend you wait for some user reviews.

Dang, you guys are harsh. It's not like she can just invent new titles and confirm games that don't exist. I think that when Miyamoto looked at the Wii hardware a few years ago he thought Wii Sports, Wii Fit and and Wii Music. Now that he has finished all of that (nearly with Wii Music). He can start working on other stuff so while it may suck that they presented Wii Music to some of you. Know that it is out of the way and only brighter things can be on the horizon.

Well this is probably about the most any gamer could have hoped for.

From the conference itself we got
Animal Crossing
Wii Sports 2, which replaced tennis and golf with swords and jetskis
1:1
Microphone(which i do not need, due to the power of my voice)


but the real stuff came from AFTER the press conference

Zelda, Mario, Kid Icarus and Pikmin all in the works

Conduit has 16 player microphone enabled online multiplayer

and im fairly sure the ''secret'' of E3 was just how awesome Animal Crossing Wii will be

It has voice chat, but that's just the tip of the barrel

It has downloadable content, and know download the code to unlock, actual content to download
You can completely design your shirt, front, back and sleeves
You can play as Mr.T
The town is probably one of the awesomer things, as you can actually visit other peoples towns while they aren't playing, and it will update them when they play again
Also you can go to the theatre for some comedy routines
You can take screenshots, of fish
You can transfer items from wild world
If you dont have wifi, you can load your town onto a ds and bring it to your friends house so he can visit it

Right. If I had said two days before E3 that we would get 1:1 motion, a new wii sports, wii music, voice chat, tons of mad world and conduit footage, more MM9 footage, dead rising, GTA DS, and a new animal crossing plus more you would be happy. It's unfortunate that that all got over shadowed by nintendo making idiots of themselves for the press.
Of course a new mario and Zelda are ''in the works'', they would stop the franchise out of nowhere! Same goes for pikmin and Animal Crossing....at least they showed something about AC.

Best E3? No. Far from it.Nearly all of the stuff you mentioned was either highly expected or previously confirmed. There were no surprises at all.I'll admit that the Wii Motion Plus looks cool, but I'll only end up buying it if a really good game supports it (namely Zelda) and even then I doubt I would buy one for all 4 of my Wiimotes.I can't really say I was TOO disappointed though considering I expected a flood of casual games...

All those ''confirmations'' mean absolutely nothing unless something is shown. We already knew these games were in the works.So that leaves us with Animal Crossing, Wii Sports 2, and Wii Music. Animal Crossing looks fun and promising. No complaints there. Wii Sports 2 looks alright I guess, but the fact that they are bundling Wii Motion Plus in with it tells you that the game will be extremely shallow just like Wii Play. Wii Music is a lot worse than I was hoping for. Hopefully it looks a lot more promising upon reading some hands on previews.In conclusion, the only highly positive aspect of the conference from Nintendo was Animal Crossing which is a third tier franchise, if that.Thank god there are some great third party games on the horizon otherwise Wii owners would be screwed for the rest of 2008 and ealy 2009.
Nintendo's worse E3 ever. Why do people keep acting as if every Nintendo fan is an Animal Crossing fan? There are at least 3 non-fans for every fan when it comes to people who own a Wii. And Wii Music was very dissapointing, hands-on impressions only validated that point. This Fall's line-up from Nintendo is so sparse, it's really quite sad. if it werent for the Conduit, Samba de Amigo(downloadable content whoooo!!!!) and Animal Crossing(play VC games with your buddies!) this would have been a total Disaster....... speaking of which....
Still there were alot of problems.
1. they did not really adress the problem with the lack of third party support. Instead they sugar coated it with a heavy quantity of games ignoring the actual quality most of them lack.2. They did not adress storage issues. Yes some games will be using SD cards now for DLC and such but nothing deffinitive and nothing as appropriate as a HDD. 3. They did not really show all the more interesting games except AC. Pikmin, Zelda, Kid Icarus, and some third party games were not even showcased at the conference.4. AC Wii is already showing some major flaws(while still holdings lots of promise). They wont use the weather channel because some people have extreme weather conditions and just like everyone is saying why dont you have the option to choose to use the weather system or not. ALso only 4 people allowed in the town at one time and the connection for all 4 is lost if 1 is d/c. You cant play your VC games from AC. There seems to be really cool ideas sprouting from this game but then they fall short from qeird decisions Nintendo is making. I hear there is DS connection but how far will they go(im guessing very vague).5. Why did they not showcase better third party games at their main conference. The Conduit, de Blob, Deadly Creatures, Mad World, Moon, Chrono Trigger and so many more for both systems. Nintendo shoul;d be helping the developers that are sticking their necks out not the games that are assured success.6. The WiiSpeack is intersting but it will fall short if I cant just plug a headset in.(shouldnt it be the same principle) Imagine playing The Conduit with the WiiSpeak as opposed to a headset.7. Motion 1:1 looks awsome but it will also fall short if they dont release a Wiimote that has it all included without attachments.8. WHeres the Wii/DS connection? Thats kinda important and a big sales driver and all I saw was a small part of AC use it.Look, Nintendo's E3 wasnt that great but that does not mean it was not alot better than the horrid crap that Sony and MS had. ALot of ideas and games look awsome but Nintendo has weird decisions surrounding them that dampens the experience or the success of the product. Like I said basically hiding all the games that matter(The Conduit), all the problems with a still very good game(Animal Crossing), and so on.

nah, 2004 was the best, why? - Awesome beginning, showed off great games such as metroid prime 2- announced and showed nintendo ds- the nintendo ds had awesome technology- Showed Super Mario 64 DS- announced that they are indeed working on a new console that will be revolutionary- oh yea, ''my name is reggie, im about kicking ass, im about taking names, and WE'RE about making games!''- Great 3rd party games were showcased, such as re4- o sweet,sweet zelda~and tons more!

Lost In Blue Shipwrecked

Anyone planning on picking this up??? I played (and beat) the original on the DS but man that game frustrated me so stinkin much (especially the first day I got it). From Nintendo Power it seems like its going to come out this fall, you can be a guy or a girl, there is co-op, and a lot of wiimote motion use. I liked the Ea system, it can work for this the lobby sytem is best IMO. USed to be in the top 100 in MOHH2 then gave up, got dull evern though i was playing against 31 players i felt alone.
Ok I might be alone on this but if its 1. a FPS and2. Uses Wii SpeakThen Im kind of worried if Nintendo would be the publisher... One might be able to deny that the game looks very promising (somehow) but you can't deny that it will be the best FPS for the Wii by far.
I dont know, Things like the boss, your gun model 9especially the pistol), hands look really good, shadowing is fine but the lighting (eg. in the sewer) and the general detail of the world isnt looking too good. Also the lack of any physics really stands out, the canned animations arent perticularly good, the enemies have no sense of weight to them IMO.But this is still in development so I hope they will rectify all these, Imn really excited for this game and I also hope they do something with the story.

For those of you who have doubts about how the final game is going to come out, remember that this game doesnt come out till 09 so they have lots of time to polish the game and add some extra touches to it. Man this might be the definitive action 1st person shooter that the Wii is looking for ( sorry Red Steel ). To top it all off they are saying that the developers are taking cues from Metroid and MOH 2, which is going to make the game even more awesome if they can get that down or even surpass those two games in 1st person controls for the Wii. game recommendations?

Thus far I've only had two games, Twilight Princess and Metroid Prime 3, both of which are very fun games.but since I've already beaten those games my Wii has been neglected for months now. I need some more Wii recommendations. Any thoughts? I'm not looking for a specific kind of game in particular, just a really fun one. game recommendations?

call of duty and its controls on the wii

how come most people say that the controls on call of duty 3 on the wii are so hard? there not for me. i think there easier then an analog stick like on the 360 version i beat the game in a week it is very easy.call of duty and its controls on the wii
Holy crap, I found someone who actually agrees with me on this. The controls in COD3 were good, I agree. But, I see where some can complain. They were good but not perfect. The only issues I ran into with though, was the grenade throwing, the hand to hand fighting, and the driving level. But the strictly shooting controls felt more intuitive than analogs to me. I never played COD3 on Wii, but in RedSteel I though it seemed easy. And lots of people say RedSteel is hard to control, but I picked it up and though it felt quite natural.

i think that the wii controls really well in FPS's too
I really liked the controls, and I had problems with the close combat parts. Then I realized I was holding them the wrong way, make sure the face buttons and analog stick are facing your chest then push forward and back.
hand to hand and grenades are so annoying in that game! Everything else is pretty good.
The controls were good. But other stuff wasn't so good.
I found the look/aim a bit odd. It took a lot of setting tweaking, and it still makes me a little dizzy. I preferred how in RE4 you would switch between movement and aim, but I would like a compromise that allows you to run and gun comfortably.

I like them but on a mission i forget the name but.. Theres 3 objectives this Crane a bomb and a turny tingy and i cant use the wiimote on the Crane and Bomb i do what it says but it doesnt work so i cant carrie on with the game =[

It's amazing how much some actual gameplay footage can change your mind.Also, the game is very reminiscent of Pikmin.

Thats why I don't use those programs on the PC like Ventrilo because of the people on there using trash talk because they fragged you on a FPS. I do think that Wii speak would make a good CO-OP tool so you can contact your team, because I think thats what the problem with most online games (PS2 - Resident Evil Outbreak) without communication you have no idea what to do, which is why they had the chat rooms during the start of the round. Hopefully Wii gets into the whole chat room thing.

It seems like they're sticking with the WW theme, but I hope that doesn't mean the soundtrack is the same as WW. As long as there are more hats, shirts, furniture, hairstyles, etc. everything will be fine. I like the idea of the city, but I hope it doesn't take too much away from the actual town. And I like the camera feature too. It seems like every game has that nowadays.

Nintendo's hardcore, take a break from N ...

EDIT: So far we haven't seen any gameplay for hardcore titles but we have news that the games are being worked very hard on. That's all I need to know. Maybe this isn't the year for Nintendo's hardcore Wii titles. Thankfully I like almost anything Nintendo dishes out and will find something I like in those games so those, plus my own life, will keep me busy. Some of you so-called hardcore Nintendo gamers just need to simmer down and take a break from those hardcore Wii titles. Here's a thought: why not just rent or buy those old Gamecube titles and play them again? If I still had Luigi's Mansion, Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door, Mario Sunshine or Metroid Prime 1 and 2 then I'd do that in the meantime. I have Wind Waker and I still haven't finished Twilight Princess or Mario Galaxy 100% so I can still do that. Also, why not play the original Mario Bros. titles or even Paper Mario 64, they're on the Wii Shop Channel. There is so much you guys can do while you wait for the new titles that it's ridiculous. Do something else with your lives while you wait. It's not like you'll die without the games. Try other 3rd party titles which you wouldn't normally play to see if you can expand your gamer mind. No More Heroes, Battalion Wars, Fire Emblem Wii, The Godfather Wii, Excite Truck, etc. are still waiting if you didn't get a chance to pick them up as well as other Wii exclusives. Mario Sluggers and a few other titles will be coming out this year so give them a try. It's funny how many of you complain about 3rd party support but when they give you a hardcore title you say you want either an original Nintendo IP or a new Nintendo IP. Nintendo gave you what you wanted early on in the Wii to keep you satisfied but some of you seem insatiable. Who knows, maybe during this hardcore drought Nintendo will release Super Smash Bros. or Majora's Mask or other hardcore titles on the VC? Seems like a Smart Move to me to keep the hardcore satisfied even more. You'll get those titles next year and you may see trailers at TGS. The possibilities are endless so go out there and, well, wait.Just another thought, a lot of you seem to be complaining about ports. I'm glad I don't complain about them because most of the ports that are coming to the Wii I didn't get a chance to pick up when they were on their other consoles. You do have a valid point, but it's not about being a hardcore Nintendo gamer. It's just about being a hardcore gamer period. They want the quality steak. And that doesn't have to mean a new Zelda or Mario game. Nor does it mean a game like SOCOM. At the sametime they have to realize that Nintendo is doing their own thing.One of my favorites this E3 is Far Cry 2, and pretty much for one reason alone. I get choose out of 12 different characters to play. When I jump into the game I not only get to see the other 11, but they are living beings in the game world. Each of them can assist me in their own way. But if I risk their life and they die these characters won't reappear in the storyline. It sounds like everyone can literally play differently.

Well Ubi hasnt been a shining star on the Wii lately, but they have never made a bad Prince of Persia game. Though I wouldnt count on it showing up on the Wii.

The new Prince of Persia is probably my favorite game shown at E3 so far. I think it would make for an excellent Wii game due to it's sick graphics and crap. Buuut, I highly doubt the controls would be made right, hypethetically though, It even looked ideal for the Wii. Thats a periphial that offers a control scheme totally different from the normal one, but they both do the same thing. Its like playing Brawl with the wiimote or the GC controller. It would be like saying Zelda was released and those with the wiimotion plus periphial would have access to techniques that those with a regular wiimote didnt. You cant do that, so if they want this thing to be seriously used, the current wiimotes have to be replaced.

I think the Wii Motion plus will be built-in the new remotes for Nintendo's next console. Right now it will only be an add-on.
I think that it won't be fully replacing the wiimote, but it will be a peripheral that gets a lot of use.It will probably be similiar to the rumble pack of n64. A definite enhancement, but not necessary. I think that since it effects playability, tightness of controls, and immersion (instead of just immersion like rumble) it will sell very well and will be widely utilized.

Its not like you can get wiimotion plus go back and play Twilight Princess and have 1:1 motion.

Gamecrazy has always had them in stock whenever I go. Also 24 hour walmarts are good and Target on Sunday. But the surefire way to get a Wii is good ol' craigslist. Take a friend with you, meet them in a well lit open place with lots of people (Starbucks etc) pay cash and the wii is yours. Make sure they bring the receipt though.

Yes, what you're buying is basically not the game, but the right to download the game. Once you've paid your money, you can download it again for free if you delete it.You can indeed move channels around, but unfortunately I don't have my Wii in front of me so I can't give you a guide on how to do that. I know it's in the settings somewhere.need help VC

We already pretty much know that they're making a Pikmin, a Star Fox, a Pokemon (for the DS, but nonetheless), and a Kid Icarus. And I can't imagine they have no plans for Kirby, either. The only question is when they're coming out.

Wii Fit Availability

Has anyone tried to get Wii Fit yet and found it sold out. I'm thinking about picking it up and I am just curious if it will be difficult to find. And if not, where and how did you get it. Did you stand in line? Did you just walk into your local store?Wii Fit Availability

i picked one up at about 8:30 this morning at Target, there was only one left after i got mine, saw a bunch of people buying 2, probably gonna sell the 2nd one on ebay. Should of made it a 1 person limit.

i know bestbuy's flyer said that they would have a minimum of 15 per store, they open at 10am, so it might be worth going there.

I just went to check it out on my lunch break and I went to a CircuitCity and a Bestbuy, both were sold out and as I was there several people asked about wii fit only to be told they had no more. But I did see they had quite a few set aside for those who pre-ordered at bestbuy. Seems like Wii Fit is gonna be hard to come by.
I got Wii Fit this morning. I was at Best Buy 5 minutes before the store opened at 10am. There was already a line outside the store. Plus they had Wii's in Stock and I saw people picking up the Wii system and Wii Fit. I picked up two DVD movies and Wii Fit plus I had a 10% of discount. I personally don't think the Wii system and Wii Fit will last long in stores. I was a bit suprised how many people were picking up Wii Fit.. I mean I knew it will sell.. but it was selling fast from where I was.I have already tired Wii Fit.. and so far its awesome. The exercise were not easy to do.. granted if you do it the way it shows you to do it. But should warm up to it quickly. The Games are cool so far. Toys 'r' Us had them in stock this morning. There were 5 or 6 people in line before the store opened. Don't know how much stock they had, though. They were offering a $10 discount on We Ski if you bought the WiiFit.

It is out of stock at Best Buy online and at my local Best Buy store. My local Target is out as well. I strolled into Circuit City at 12pm and they still had about 8 copies.
I had pre-ordered Wii Fit at Amazon, got it yesterday. I didn't get a chance to try it out last night, but my underweight 9 year old had a blast playing on it for a couple of hours -lol-
There's a ton of them available on eBay (no surprise there). Most sellers are offering free shipping, and they seem to be going for $50-70 more than retail price.

I see a great franchise, that is only getting better.
The game is kinda like The Sims, only that you control 1 person and time passes in real time.
I'm glad hopefully it will be as good as the others and will hold my attention for an entire summer, or winter break. As long as they keep adding more bug and fish and dinos to your museum collection I'm sure i will keep busy that's what I had the most fun doing in Wild World then my file got deleted :(.

I like the part about living in a town with animal neighbors, but I would like to see a more fantastical, majestic world than a totally bright and colorful one. Plus, there's not really much to do on the game... Collect junk to put in your little house, that does nothing - that's about the size of it. It's a great concept, but the games aren't making enough of an advancement from title to title to keep me buying every new one. I have Animal Crossing DS, that gives me my fill of AC for now.

Meh, I don't feel like giving such a huge explanation about what Animal Crossing offers. Really, if you think about it, it's just the same. The only difference I can see though is that Replay Value is at its peak when a player can jump into the game anytime they want, and know that something different might happen tomorrow in the game.Personal Surprise: Back at around December of 2005 to January of 2006(can't remember actual date), I finally gotten tired of the first Animal Crossing after ten months of frequent playing. I can say that the charm is one thing that got me to coming back to this game, though it wore off. I already knew Animal Crossing Wild World was out by then, though after finally giving up the GCN version, I thought I wouldn't have as much fun with this one. So I waited, or so that was until March of 2006. I played my friend's copy of the game, and decided to buy my own copy. The surprise to me was that I actually played the game for a full year before I got tired of it, which is something I lost back on the GCN...I'll get City Folk, simply because it's Animal Crossing, and hopefully will last me at least another year of gameplay. :) *Edit*- Holy Crap! I just remembered I still have my save file for my GCN game. I wonder if they're mad at me...(gone about 2 and a half years)

The Nintendo Developer Conference!!

This is the Nintendo's Developer Conference and they are talking about Animal Crossing Wii, Wii Sports Resort, and Wii Music they haven't said anything about new games yeat so here is the conference!!The conference is still been updated because there were no Video cameras allowed and that is why they couldn't make a vieo about it. So far the start of it is AC Wii the creator said that there is DLC and when you create the shirt yo can do the back, front, and the sleeve of designing. The animals will give a simple feed back of wearing your shirt. You can save up your screenshots to the SD card and can be in your message bard. Now they are having a Q%26A time and the question was if one player left in Wild World everyone was disconnected now if someone leaves will everyone be disconnected? So the creator says no and is sorry for the problem on Wild World. Can you import your items from the DS to the Wii? Yes you can and you can take your caracter and items to the Wii only Wild Wrld though!! In the GC version is the NES games coming back to the Wii? No unfortunately the creator said that they didn't want to play virtual console games on Animal Crossing!! (sniff) They thought that they were going to interconnect with the forecast channel but were afraid if the weather for some regions were wrong. Moving on to Wii Sports Resort. The game has some typical sports. They made the game on an islandwith some sports like jet Ski and sword fighting. But why sword fighting? They showed that the remote control to the frisbee throw and the controls are pretty good. On to water skiing it is used with the wiimote and Nunchuk moving back and forth to get through hoops. Twisting the remote and nunchuk gives out a small boost. Without Wii motion plus it will not be possible. The auidence groans and the shower hits a bouy and crashes in the water. On to sword fighting JC the shower fights a CPU and Yeguchi the creator of AC says that you can block by using the B button. The Q%26A time now!! Have third party developers have access to the Wii motion plus before today? Yeguchi deosn't know. Someone asked what kind of tech is in the Wiimotion plus? Yeguchi isworried that everyone needs one to play. The Wiimotion plus has more rotation and angle and adds more to the acceratormeter data from the wiimote itself. As for mutiplayer they hope that you well take more Wiimotion plus. Yeguchican't say how much minigames there are but in the final game he says 10. Someone asked if Wiimotion plus is going to be built in the wiimote? But everybody that watch E3 knows that they aren't. Miyamoto comes to the stage to show the demo of Wii Music. Miyamoto briefly geos over the basics that he discussed at the conference: Other rythm games gives out precise matching of notes but they were trying for something different. Miyamoto plays guitar but is terrified of playing in front of people because he is afraid of making notes and making a bad sound.Miyamoto chooses Yankee Doodle. The demo only have 26 out of the 60 instruments. Miyamoto plays the guitar first perfect then messes around and it sounds okay then other instruments play and it sounds like K.K. Rider from Animal Crossing. Then Miyamoto and the translator lay the harp like instruments and is still at the main menu this isn't even the Game!!!!! Then JC comes in for a 3 person jam on Mario Bros. Theme song. You can make music videos and share them with your friends through WiiConnect 24. Then Aran Rosenback comes on stage and shows everyone the drums. Miyamoto says that there is an structure to teach people to play any instrument on the game. The Q%26A time someone asks if the drums are like japanneses Rythm Tengoku? No it is not. The 50 songs in the game will include a wide viarty of public domain songs but also liscensed songs. There not really caring about DLC to more songs they care about the music Videos to friends. The staff from Wave Racer 64 is working on a game from the Wii Sport Resort Water Skiing. Miyamoto leaves and everybody laughs and he comes back and says we are making a new legend of Zelda and we are making Pikmin!! So the big game is Pikmin 3. The Nintendo Developer Conference!!
