it seems obvious enough. release it as planned as a motionplus add-on then slowly reduce the number of wii remotes distributed while announcing the wii motion plus is the new wii controller. (already attached). From there the wii remotes are discontinued and the new wii remotes are released. then the wii motion plus can be discontinued while purchase can still be availiable through nintendo's website. seems like the very obvious pathway.Wii motion plus discontinues the wii rem ...
Thats probaly what will happen, since this isnt a normal periphial, it will probaly become the standard for controls in newly developed games. So the current Wiimote will probaly be phased out next year.Wii motion plus discontinues the wii rem ...
Wii Motion Plus is just an add-on. It's not meant to replace the Wii-remote.

anyway theyre not gunna pull a sony and make you buy a new wiimote

They are not going screw over the 20+ million people that already own a Wii by making them buy a new peripheral to play every game. Some games will support the add-on but most probably won't because most games don't need it.Also, please change your sig. It's disturbing.

Thats a periphial that offers a control scheme totally different from the normal one, but they both do the same thing. Its like playing Brawl with the wiimote or the GC controller. It would be like saying Zelda was released and those with the wiimotion plus periphial would have access to techniques that those with a regular wiimote didnt. You cant do that, so if they want this thing to be seriously used, the current wiimotes have to be replaced.

i dont think they will it would be a bad idea people with the new remote woulldnt be able to use the wii wheel or zapper
i dont think they will it would be a bad idea people with the new remote woulldnt be able to use the wii wheel or zapper
That's a great point. Plus, Nintendo will make more money by selling it seperately and will sell more copies of Wii Sports Resort. They would be stupid to include it with the Wii remote.
I dont think it wil actually replace the wii remote because I think it would screw up games that don't need the hyper sensitivity, like the original wii sports. I think its just going to be an add on, but that in the future so many games will use it you will basically need to have one, kind of like how the nunchuk is an ''add on'' but everyone has one.
this maybe stupid question but does the nunchuk connect to the wiimote with the motion plus perpheral
this maybe stupid question but does the nunchuk connect to the wiimote with the motion plus perpheral
yupper puppers
when is this being released? i thought i read in another threads IGN link that it was coming out next week...
i just wanna know how much this things are gonna cost nintendo LOOOVEEESSS MONEY!!
I think the Wii Motion plus will be built-in the new remotes for Nintendo's next console. Right now it will only be an add-on.
I think that it won't be fully replacing the wiimote, but it will be a peripheral that gets a lot of use.It will probably be similiar to the rumble pack of n64. A definite enhancement, but not necessary. I think that since it effects playability, tightness of controls, and immersion (instead of just immersion like rumble) it will sell very well and will be widely utilized.
It makes the wiimote larger...
Wiimote sideways.
Think that's enough said?
The_Nintendawg, there is a place to plug in the nunchuk on the Wii Motion Plus.
when is this being released? i thought i read in another threads IGN link that it was coming out next week...
It's being released in Spring 2009 when the new Wii Sports comes out.

Its not like you can get wiimotion plus go back and play Twilight Princess and have 1:1 motion.
I read somewere miyamoto said they are not sure about it and he said if anything they might just pack it in with the wii remote
