Ok, everone keeps raving on about the newPikmin, Zelda, Mario. (mainly as arguments for Nintendo's horrible E3)Yeah, this is not a valid point. There will ALWAYS be another mario and zelda indevelopment. (that was not even in question) and I think the new pikmin game was obvious. They did not announce it in the mainconferencebecause ITS NOT EARLY ENOUGH INDEVELOPMENTFOR THAT! I don't think we will be getting the titles this year! ... next year, if we are lucky. Those hints at the new games does not make up for the horrible conf. (which would have been better had they not hyped it up...or if that annoying lady who kept taling about her kid was not there)so, please stop using that as an argument....its not a valid one! There is no Pikmin, Zelda, Mario ... for ...
well LOZ: TP has been done for over 2 years... i think they should have another one atleast ready to show by now. There is no Pikmin, Zelda, Mario ... for ...
Your thread is invalid. You said there is no Pikmin, Zelda, Mario in your title but in here you say there is?:
|But the new Zelda will be reinvented and everyone wants to know how, the new mario will be a NEW 3D mario platform game we've had only 3 of those since the n64 having another one coming this generation is big news. And pikmin 2 had multiplayer, something 1 didn't have, who knows what will be in the next one. That's why everybody expects them, it is valid.
Yes, you are 100% correct.
Your topic doesn't line up with your post, but I see your point. I knew these games were in development - it's just nice to get a reassuring pat on the back sometimes.
The point in bringing up those titles is not to justify the crappy conference, but to make it completely clear that Nintendo has NOT forgotten about its loyal fans. It's important to stress that because games like WiiMusic and WiiSports Resort were getting all the attention. Some people went as far as to say that Nintendo completely turned its back on us altogether.
This year, we'll have to make due with Wario Land Shake It and Animal Crossing. Large first party game droughts suck, but it's something that Nintendo has always struggled with.
Your argument is not a valid one for not understanding the reasoning behind ours.
Um Pikmin was confirmed by miyamato.
There is no spoon.
Yes, you are 100% correct.
Not really. I mean its a fairly reasonable assumption, but given how Nintendo has been announcing and releasing their games its also a fair assumption to say they are just waiting till closer to those games releases before they officially reveal them. E3 is dead and though Nintendo put out one of the worst showings, to core gamers at least, the event as a whole sucked pretty hard all around. And just like last year its safe to expect Nintendo to repeat last years October conference to showcase the majority of their project and hardcore games. So I wouldnt be surprised to see Pikmin revealed and maybe a teaser for the next Zelda at whatever event they hold later this year.
We all know these titles will come eventually, just not at this point in time.
From what I recall, Miyamoto stated he would like to get back to work on the wii, and then mentioned Pikmin 3 is coming, so in other words he hasn't started on it yet, he's just finished Wii Music. so I highly doubt that you'll see anything of it this year or even E3 next year. And yes, a new Mario and Zelda will always be in development, but no specifics is what people are annoyed at. They already stated the Wii will have a long life, that's where all the talk of the DS lifeline and sales stuff was heading, so it could be 5 years away, once again, where's the specifics? And I do think people are mad not wholely because of the conference itself, but of what was promised this year, by Nintendo officials. ''All of our core franchises covered'' was one quote I believe. Nintendo has vastly differing views on what core franchises are to us.And they also like dodging the question ''what about the hardcore gamers?'' with answers like ''How do you define hardcore''
Um Pikmin was confirmed by miyamato.
This is the whole point of my post. I KNOW IT WAS CONFIRMED! It was never in question. but it was not confirmed during the confrence, plus, I seriously doubt it is coming out this year. The way I see it, we are more than halfway into this year, if there was gonna be a new zelda, mario, or pikmin game come out this year (before or on dec. 31 2008) then they probably would have announced it. They may show a trailer or release the title or even a demo before then, but I doubt it. There is a very little chance we are getting any of the three this year. So, how did this make the conf better? Besides, this was announcedafter the confrence! It was not part of Nintendo's press confrence. It is like saying:''the dinner may have sucked but the ride home was fun so it was a great meal'' ... it makes no senseDon't get me wrong! I am not one of those people who has given up on Nintendo and is selling his Wii! I still belive that nintendo is the greatest of them all and the wii is the best console...we just are not getting many good 1st party games until next year.Oh, and I fixed the title of this post. (I messed that up)
the fact that they are in development isnt important info... the fact that they will have something come out for the Wii is important... Its good to know that the mario team is still making something for the wii instead of just working on the DS or just making their game for the next gen.
Yeah these really aren't big announcements for me. I mean great, we've known that these titles have been in development. The thing that I don't really like is this galaxy 2... Galaxy was one of the best games on the wii, but I mean usually they do something different in every mario game. Now were having this Galaxy 2 which will be probably like the original, doesn't seem very innovative to me.

I think we got plenty of 3rd party to survive on for a while.
