IGN's take on Big N's E3Apparently even reviewers were underwhelmed at Nintendo's press event. This clears up a lot, and it gives a lot of hope for the future of Nintendo, but not the future of Nintendo at E3.Update: Shigeru Miyamoto Interview VideoMiyamoto explains some of the reasoning behind the titles shown at E3. Well... let's just hope Nintendo has something planned for the holiday season. IGN's take on Big N's E3 - Now with a v ...
I feel like I'm the least disappointed because I saw this coming a mile away. E3 was just hyped to death. People talked about it like someone from Nintendo was gonna get on stage and be like ''hell yeah! new Mario! and new Zelda! and new F Zero! and an HD! and a mic! and a new Star Fox! and a million dollars in cash! Ok, thank you goodnight.''
E3's new format was first put into practice in the 2007 rendition of it. It's no big surprise, then, that people's Nintendo E3 disappointments began in 2007.It kinda sucks, but it's no big deal - just because they don't show anything doesn't mean that they don't have anything or that their games are going to come out any later than they otherwise would.
I admit I too was a little disappointed, expecting atleast a few more games to be shown.
we should still have hope, the big n has a couple of things up their sleeve for second half
From the looks at it, E3 was aimed at US auidiences. I'm sure the Japanese would watch E3 right? Nintendo is a japanese company so its highly likely they are going to show the Hardcore games at TGS. Maybe they also know that Hardcores would look up info on TGS so maybe its a MASTER PLAN!!Show casual stuff at E3Show HardCore at TGS.Makes sense
I wasn't expecting much because there's only 1 or 2 games i would buy for Wii that they havn't announced yet any way: Kid icarus wii and DK wii.

I, in a way, depended on E3. Wii this year just plain sucked. But 2007 had some quality games, thats what Im playing right now.
Nintendo doesn't do TGS or atleast they didnt last year.
Iwata always has a conference at TGS, even though Nintendo actually isn't there. The first Wiimote teaser was shown there and last year he announced Monster Hunter 3.Anyway, there's hopefully another Fall Conference by Nintendo this year again.

meh.. lets wait and see.. this at least makes me have some extra cash 4 now:P

Now that's sig worthy. :P

Anyway, I know I wasn't that disappointed, E3 isn't what we think it is anymore and it's not like Nintendo promised us any of the hyped games, everyone was just speculating and expecting the next Zelda, Star Fox, Pikmin, etc. E3 isn't for the hardcore gamers anymore, it's to show off to the business and media, hence the name ''E3 Business %26 Media Summit.''

I've gotten over my E3 dissapointment. There's plenty of third party games to hold me over through the end of 2008 and early 2009. If Nintendo continues the trend seen at E3 through future game conferences, then I'll start worrying again.

Best quote from the article:
...prove without any doubt is that Nintendo possessed the catalog to dazzle traditional players. It simply chose not to. With that being true, we're left wondering why the Big N even bothered to join the exhibition given that E3 is typically a show appreciated by the hardcore crowd.
