Why wasn't a new Retro project revealed?

I dunno about you guys but E3 was just okay for me this year. We got some nice surprises and some great featurettes about some of these games but overall it was lacking in some places. I for one wasn't too dissappointed that no hardcore titles were shown at Nintendo's press conference, like so many of you whining gamers, but I still was looking for some games to either be shown on the floor or at least mentioned. One of the games that no one even mentioned was Metroid. I was surprised because everyone wanted to know about Zelda and Mario but not Samus. I for one forgot about it too until now. It is probably the most thought provoking question to have asked Miyamoto during E3 because he and Retro Studios work on those projects. We know the Prime series is done but I am yurning to know if they are working on a brand new project and if Metroid Dread really is dead. I also know a lot of gamers wanted to know if they'd work on a WiiWare Metroid title in the meantime, cuz I'd love to try that. They have to be up to something. What do you guys think is going on with them? Why wasn't a new Retro project revealed?
A Legend of Zelda FPS?Why wasn't a new Retro project revealed?

I was expecting Metroid Dread to be shown. This E3 was just filled with disappointment.
didnt retro lose some of its top graphics people... Im guessing it might have set them back some..
It wasn't shown because I'm sure it's not ready to be shown yet. After all, Prime 3 was released less than a year ago.I didn't expect to hear anything about Metroid because Prime 3 just came out. Not only that, but they have to find someone to develop the next chapter. Also, Metroid Dread isn't coming. Stop asking.
Same thing with Intelligent Systems(other then Fire Emblem DS, which is done). I have a feeling both of them are brewing up some good games, and we just need to wait a bit longer to see what they are. I also think Retro is working on something other then Metroid, at least for now.

This may seem like a silly question, but how many more Metroid games can there be? Unlike Mario and Zelda, where you can have the protagonists save the princess again and again, the Metroid games actually have a timeline. I was under the impression that all Metroid were eradicated. In theory, Nintendo can do whatever the heck they want with the story as long as it is remotely engaging and has the signature awesome Metroid gameplay, but if it can't be done well, I don't know if I want it done at all.
I really wanted to hear RavenBlade was coming back but I didnt :(.
Nintendo doesn't show games until they have something to show.
