I have been needing to get this off my chest for a while now: I am deeply disappointed in the Wii. It seemed like such a great idea when it first came out, and now I'm ready to throw it out the window. (as opposed to selling it, which would stick some other poor soul with it, and I'm not that cruel.)I have rented many Wii games and I haven't had the desire to purchase any of them. Many of the games out there for the Wii just seem thrown together. Many new games come to the Wii almost as an afterthought, significantly downgraded by comparison to their XBOX and PS3 counterparts (understandably.) And others are just ports from the ps2 (which I already own.) Most of the ones that are exclusive for the Wii aren't really that great . I thought Zelda was awesome, but in retrospect I realize that means I paid 300 bucks for the new Zelda game. That sucks. (to be fair, I haven't tried every single game yet, but does anyone? I know I'll like Metroid, but could it be good enough to redeem the system for me? Probably not) Initially, I was disappointed that the Wii games looked more like PS2 games. I know the technology is better, but how worthwhile is it to introduce a new system if the games look like they were made for a system that is 8 years old? Super Mario Galaxy is pretty impressive visually, but it's just too cutesy for my taste. That franchise lost me at Paper. And what's with all these new accessory-based games? How many boxes of old video game accessories do I really need in my closet? It's already pretty full of N64 controllers. My point is that the Wii has been out long enough for us to be seeing some shining examples of what the Wii is all about. I hope the best is yet to come, but how long do we have to wait? The other major systems already have some games tasty enough to make die hard Wiibles wobble on down to the store and buy a different system. The Wii has disappointed me.
Ok. Have you played and beaten Brawl? Twilight Princess? The Metroid Prime Series? Super Paper Mario? Okami? No more Heroes? RE:4? Look beyond the Graphics man! Thats mostly what you complain about! And these accesories are mostly released to make life more fun! The zapper improves Accuracy, and the Wii Fit Balance Board ''unlocks'' new games to play which are appearing on peoples librarys soon.If you start to get bored dig into the weekly downloads or go buy some old Game cube games. You need to look PAST the graphics and at the mechanics and gameplay. The Wii has disappointed me.
OK So first of all I don't care if you sell your Wii. Its totally up to you.But there are plenty of games for the Wii that haven't gotten as much attention as they should have. You might wanna try them out.And there are some promising titles coming to the Wii like Force Unleashed, The Conduit and MadWorld. If you don't like Mario you usually don't buy the system. Why? Because the best game for most Nintendo systems have been Mario games. On the Wii its Super Mario Galaxy.Oh and your not forced to buy accessories. The only one you need is the nunchuk and that comes with the Wii.If you liked games like Halo or GTA you would go for the other systems.
By reading i can say the Wii games arent your type of games you are looking for right?
sell it. you wont you wont no balls
Th only game you played is twilight princess?! Maybe you should try brawl, galaxy, metroid, paper mario, fire emblem, mario kart, nights, etc. Upcoming there is the just announced pikmin, tales, fragile, dead rising, probably a new zelda, ff cc, de blob, sam and max, mario super sluggers, fatal frame and animal crossing. You could play some vc or wii ware games, browse the internet on the couch, check the weather/news, compete in check mii out and a ton more. You should try some other things besides just zelda.
Oh yeah, I forgot to rant about the controllers. God, don't get me started on that. I agree, Okami is good, but I played it on PS2. That was actually the specific game I was thinking of when I refered to old PS2 ports (Bully is another one). I played through Paper Mario (GC) and Super Paper Mario, RE:4, Trauma Center, No More Heroes, Twilight Princess, Harry Potter, Manhunt 2, Prince of Persia, Raving Rabbids, and others that escape my mind at the moment.. I have not played Brawl; I really have rented a lot of games. I don't know how to hammer this point home enough to prove my dedication to the Wii. I NEVER rented this many games on the PS2 or any other system I've owned. I was happy with the select few games I purchased. The difference is now I'm trying as many games as possible (and beating many of them) just to give the Wii a fair shake, and I'm continually disapointed. That was my main point, not just the graphics. Hell, I love my old school systems, so I don't think graphics are really the most important thing to me. I can't be the only person who is disapointed in the games that are coming out for the Wii...
Im may be dissapointed at E3 this year but there still is the TGS. Ussualy this is where Nintendo shows thier Big guns.

Nintendo is never at TGS :|
As for TC -- What game's have you tried on the Wii? Cause really, I own 22 great Wii title's -- Though, it should be noted, if you bought a Wii thinking you'll get a similar experience to the PS3/360 -- well, your in for a surprise.
How can you badmouth the Wii when you haven't even played the best games? Go play Galaxy, Prime 3, and Brawl. Also, Galaxy is too cutesy for you? Give me a freakin' break.

I still play brawl every now and then but it gets boring after awhile.I didnt enjoy the others cause it felt as though there was not enough depth to it. It only touched the surface. I dont want to buy a game that i can beat in less then 2 to 3 days. Im getting tired of all these cutesy games. There okay and all but not when more then half of the games out are like that. I want a good balance between mature and family games. Ill be more then happy with my system. Until then i guess ill just play some old school games from virtual console.
um why is it nintendo always gets shafted every time they have loads of good gamesdont say they havent because since n64 people been whining about nintendo not having good games when the facts arenintendo 64 brought us goldeneye007 and people the nsay 2 gens later theyd wish for it on xbla loland it sold 8.5 million copies in the us aloneperfect dark again sold 8 mill usdoom 64hexen 64super mario 64mariokart 64dr mario 64duke nukem 3d(known as dn 64 on n64)_
conker bfddonkey kong 64banjo kazzoiebanjo tooiekirby 64zelda oot zelda mm ssb re2 and moregc broughtre series including 2 new ones-zero and 4giesttimesplitters also on others but still super mario sunshinekiller 7wwe seriesetcnow wiis doing that and still half if not 1/4 of the people here complain about it, even the whole e3 ,, which is stupid when nintendo already hinted at somthing big , by stating the mario /zelda teams are hard at work on their next big projects and ign spilled nintendos guts in the interview they had they almost confirmed a new kid ikarus and all sorts of other stuff on wii even a new super mario bros ds was hintedso to tc - wii has games, your just looking for art thats it go watch movies ,, because 360 ps3 wii or any other system will always fail to match that , , realisticlly if they wanted to match that they need to pull out video cameras and all that good stuff which would cost more and take much more longer to develope, and it wouldnt give small devs a chance at anything this is what wiis doing , as well as ps2 and xbla , they are doing good jobs at keeping costs down so small devs can work on somthing for us gamers to enjoy and quite frankly with out nintendo i very highly doubt well be were we are today as far as gaming goes and nintendo created almost any thing that is in existance in terms of games, like for example 3d gaming starting on snes , thanks to super fx chip , 4 player gaming that came with console , not as seperate adapter, the game boy line up /ds line up the motion sensing stuff for use in games and much more that others copied , and tryed to capitalize on their success only to fail , so ya ,, its all in your head, to me every console has their gems , , even saturn or vb
There are great games ou there though. I persoanlly own and have had a blast with...Mario Galaxy, Zack %26 Wiki, Pro Evo soccor, Mario Kart, Metroid, Zelda, Rayamn Raving Rabbids, Warioware, no More Heroes, Boom Blox, Dragon Quest Swords, Trauma Center, Smash Bros, RE4, Lost Winds, Super Paper Mario, and Medal of Honor: Heroes 2. And I'm looking forward to Mad World, The Conduit, Deadly Creatures, De Blob, Animal Crossing, Tenchu4, Fatal Frame 4, Megaman 9, Dead Rising (if it's good), and Wario Land :Shake It plus more.
I consider myself a casual gamer. These are the games I own:Wii SportsZelda TPMetroid Prime IIISuper Mario GalaxyGuitar Hero 3Super Smash Bros. Brawl. So yes I am very satisfied with the Wii. Plus, the chicks digg it!
I'm looking forward to Wii Music and especially Conduit (i swore it looked like a 360 game when I first saw it) and Dead Rising on the Wii. Wii Sports: Resort is another one, plus any Zelda/mario games that are coming out and so forth
yea man i must say i'm pretty disapointed with what the wii has to offer. I mean it has some good games like metroid prime 3 corruption, galaxy, brawl, and mario kart but all those games could've done better without the ''revolutionary'' controls which is more disapointing. Made Corruption hard to play and collecting those star things in galaxy was lame, also it wasnt fun controlling with it in excite bike and i havent even touched the damn thing in like a year. I think nintendo should just stop with the gimmicks and should just focus on making good games again. Like more original games. That would be the real revolution.

[/QUOTE]What you said about Corruptions controls shows you got no taste and sense in games, after playing MP3:Corruption and MoH Heroes 2 I can't go back to normal controllers for FPS/FPA. Oh get used to it IR and motion controls are here to stay and will be present in a ll next-gen consoles.
